Zico Kolter is a co-founder and chief technical adviser of Gray Swan AI, an AI security and red-teaming startup, and head of the machine learning department at Carnegie Mellon University, where his research centres on AI safety, robustness and alignment. In 2024 he joined OpenAI's board of directors and chairs its safety and security committee.
