Bret Taylor
Bret Taylor is the chairman of OpenAI's board and co-founder of the AI start-up Sierra, which builds customer-service agents for businesses. An engineer who helped create Google Maps and later served as chief technology officer and then co-chief executive of Salesforce, he also chaired Twitter's board during its sale to Elon Musk. He took over as OpenAI's board chair on the reconstituted board that followed Sam Altman's 2023 removal and return, and has been the public face of the company's contested move to a public-benefit-corporation structure. He has argued that the nonprofit will retain control of OpenAI through that change.
