Varun Mohan is a co-founder and was chief executive of Windsurf, the US company behind the AI coding tool of the same name, originally launched as Codeium. An MIT graduate who had worked at Nuro and Databricks, he co-founded the company in 2021 with Douglas Chen; in 2025 he and several colleagues left to join Google DeepMind under a licensing deal.
