Liang Wenfeng is the founder and chief executive of DeepSeek, the Chinese AI company whose low-cost R1 reasoning model drew global attention in early 2025. He earlier co-founded the quantitative hedge fund High-Flyer in 2015, which became one of China's largest quant firms and provided both funding and the GPU infrastructure from which DeepSeek grew.
