Voice-generation company ElevenLabs said it had raised $180 million in a Series C round co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and ICONIQ Growth, valuing the company at $3.3 billion — roughly triple its valuation a year earlier. New investors including NEA and Lunate joined existing backers Sequoia Capital and Salesforce Ventures, alongside strategic partners such as Deutsche Telekom and NTT DOCOMO Ventures. The round brought the company’s total funding since its 2022 founding to around $281 million.
ElevenLabs said the money would go toward research on more expressive and controllable voice models, expanding developer and enterprise tools, and building out AI safety measures, alongside plans to widen language coverage and grow its conversational-agent products.
The raise reflected a broader run-up in valuations for generative-media startups through late 2024 and early 2025, and came as voice cloning and synthesis tools drew growing scrutiny over impersonation and fraud risks — a tension the company’s own safety-spending pledge implicitly acknowledged. ElevenLabs continued raising at escalating valuations through the following year.
