William MacAskill is a Scottish moral philosopher and a co-founder of the effective altruism movement, associated with Forethought, a research organisation examining how society should navigate advanced AI. An associate professor of philosophy at the University of Oxford, he co-founded Giving What We Can and 80,000 Hours and wrote the books "Doing Good Better" and "What We Owe the Future".
