Nate Thomas is a co-founder and chief executive of Redwood Research, a Berkeley non-profit founded in 2021 that does applied AI alignment work on risks from advanced systems, alongside co-founders Buck Shlegeris and Bill Zito. He holds a PhD in physics from Stanford.
