Karan Malhotra is a co-founder of Nous Research, a New York-based open-source AI company established in 2023 and known for its Hermes family of open-weight language models. He is a public face for the lab's work, which also includes its Psyche decentralised training network; Nous raised a reported $50 million Series A led by Paradigm in 2025.
