FAR AI
An AI-safety research and field-building nonprofit that does technical work on frontier-model robustness and runs a Berkeley research hub, grants and conferences.
FAR AI, originally the Fund for Alignment Research, is a Berkeley-based AI-safety research and field-building nonprofit founded in 2022 by Adam Gleave and Karl Berzins. It conducts its own technical research on frontier-model safety — including work on adversarial robustness and model vulnerabilities — and acts as infrastructure for the wider field, running the FAR.Labs co-working space, grant programmes and a series of alignment workshops and conferences. In January 2026 the organisation said it had raised more than $30m from multiple funders to expand its research. It is led by chief executive Adam Gleave, who completed a Berkeley PhD under Stuart Russell.
