General-purpose humanoid robots (Apollo) for industrial and logistics work.
Apptronik is an Austin humanoid-robot company whose Apollo robot is being trialled on factory and warehouse floors with partners including Mercedes-Benz and the logistics firm GXO. It grew out of the Human Centered Robotics Lab at the University of Texas and was founded in 2016, led by chief executive Jeff Cardenas, and has built its work around actuators and whole-body control for robots meant to operate safely alongside people. In early 2026 it said it had raised a Series A extension bringing the round to more than $935m at a valuation of about $5bn, co-led by Google and B Capital, as it moves from pilots toward larger-scale production.
