Dario Amodei affirms commitment to American AI leadership
Amodei said Anthropic's revenue had grown from a $1B to $7B run rate in nine months and rejected claims the company opposed American AI competitiveness.

Anthropic published a statement from chief executive Dario Amodei rebutting what he called inaccurate claims about the company’s policy positions, and restating its commitment to American AI leadership. He cited Anthropic’s revenue growth — from a $1 billion to a $7 billion annualised run rate over nine months — and its government contracts, including a Department of Defense agreement, as evidence against the claim that Anthropic opposed US competitiveness.
Amodei set out four priorities: a single federal regulatory standard over a state-by-state patchwork, expanded energy and compute capacity, tighter export controls on chips to China, and continued work reducing political bias in models. He said Anthropic was the only frontier lab restricting chip sales to Chinese-controlled entities, and defended its earlier support for California’s SB 53 as a reasonable stopgap pending federal legislation.
The statement was part of a wider effort by Anthropic to counter a narrative, advanced by parts of the Trump administration and some investors, that its safety advocacy amounted to opposing American AI development.
